No Tears Shed for Sad Little Elf Ears

I love trying out all kinds of elf ears! That sounds funny doesn't it? After all, we're all supposed to only have one pair of ears we live with all our lives, right? Well, yes, in a normal, human world that is true. However, this is Second Life, AND it's not necessarily a human world. Another great example of what makes Second Life so appealing, we can be who we want to be and try out as many ears as we want! hehe That's just what I did! In the process, I discovered some really fun elf ears from designer Kioko Kumaki of Panda Express. They're whimsical, cute, fun, well made and a great buy. Now, how can you beat that? On top of all that, the designer has packed each and every pair with great features. With all the ears, you have the ability to change the skin shade to quite a few choices just by clicking the ear itself. I've listed some of my favorite pairs below with pictures of each. Kioko has a few other options not mentioned here, too . I have the store's blog listed to the right under my store/designer blogroll.

Fantasy Art Focus: Adriane MacMoragh

Cousins

Adriane MacMoragh is another wonderful artist within Second Life. She does all kinds of pictures, not just fantasy alone. Her talent is unique and beautiful and each and every one of her photos are special with such a variety of textures, colors, lighting effects, poses, skins, hairs, and backgrounds. She knows how to make each photo individual and so many of them are playful, fun and eccentric. I love her use of vibrant colors that look just right, plus alot of her poses are varied. Another thing that makes her pictures interesting is one day she may be a fairy, and the next day she may be retro in rollers. Another day she may be a tough street chick, and the next day she may be a lil elven girl. Elf, fairy, fashionista or chic geek, Adriane's work stands out in the crowd and demands recognition for a job well done!

RED ALERT: Elf in the City

It's time I leave the forest and go to the big city for a visit. I knew I had to find something besides hunting and casual elven faire, so I chose a chic, sexy red mini I had purchased the other day when I was in my blue mood...I did manage a red dress :P It's perfect! Stylish, modern and a little more befitting of the metropolis I planned to visit.

Made of a high quality textured satin, the beautiful dress shimmered in the city lights.

Even waiting for a taxi can look sexy...the back of the dress was cut and fit well.

The lovely shade of red stood out against a graffiti wall.

Relaxing at the hotel at the evening's end was comfortable in the dress.

Time to return home to the forest. What a fun day and night, but I wouldn't trade my home for anywhere else in the world.

Chakryn Forest: Romantic Beauty

I think the forests and woods of Second Life are my absolute favorite when it comes to exploration. I've already blogged about two of my favorites, Elven Forest and Tol Narwa Vire. I discovered another one not long ago that's absolutely beautiful and it's called Chakryn Forest, owned by Bettina Tizzy and created by Andrek Lowell. I found it listed as a pick on someone's profile.

A creature visiting the Forest, while looking very regal indeed.

Elemental waters dancing below one of the many statues in the Forest and the volcano high above

As soon as I landed in the Forest, I was surrounded by huge, lush trees that seemed to glitter in the sunlight. Small blossoms, leaves, and magic dust fell from above, while sounds of the forest could be heard in every direction. As I began to walk, I could see a flowing creek in front of me with two very tall waterfalls to the left. A lovely statue floated among the waterfalls and I was in awe of this magical place. I ran across a tree stump with instructions of some kind, then I realized it was an ongoing quest using orbs set up throughout the forest. I continued to walk through the woods and ran across quite a few unique oddities including a giant snowglobe, a large teddy bear standing by the creek, big eyes and faces following you as you walk by, a floating moon with a bed to relax, an opaque blue camel, a hobo vardo, and a heavyset nude woman lounging by the creek *giggles*.

One of the "eyes" of the forest that follow your every move as you pass o.O

A BIG, but friendly teddy bear

One thing I love about Chakryn Forest is the gorgeous sunbeams that filter through the trees and into the forest giving it a glowing and colorful prism effect. I noticed in about two to three spots on the edge of the sim right over the water, there were dancing effects using abstract art, which added to the overall magic of the sim. There are also hidden places within the Forest. I found a body of water high at the top of a rocky mountain and when I went into the water, I ended up in a little room with candles, planets, and other interesting items. After walking past stone "faces" built into the rock surrounding me and following my every move, I found a dark cave that also lead to this underwater area. There's also a volcano at the highest point of the sim. Little coves and resting places are scattered all about the forest, making it that much more inviting. Inside another cave is the actual trees and other forest objects for sale by the creator, Andrek Lowell.

Relaxing on the floating moon :)

The hobo vardo full of "important" junk...wait, can junk be important? Of course it can!

Chakryn Forest is another must-see in Second Life I can't say enough about. There is no nudity, weapons or vampire bites allowed as it's a peaceful region especially created for relaxation and discovery. Beauty, magic, and "character" abounds in this original!

I Found Something to Wear With My Boots

I purchased some really cute boots from Shiny Things the other day and wanted to show them off. I love ALL their products, especially their jewelry and shoes. Fallingwater Cellardoor's designs are always unique and made with loving care. The boots come in five colors and are very casual and comfortable in design. Of course I had to find some clothes to go with my boots, hehe. Here is what I threw together...

In a Blue Mood

Well, I fell off the wagon yesterday and splurged on some new clothes! My shopaholicism can't be held back for too long you know. This time I was in the mood for some new styles and every time I found something, I noticed I loved it in blue! Imagine that, my favorite color :) I also found a few fall styles and couldn't resist. I gathered my purchases and ventured off to cooler weather. It has been extra hot this summer, so I decided to spend a little time at the lake in the snowy mountains. That's what's SO nice about Second Life, we can go just about anywhere, any time, and any place we want to. Isn't it grand? Beautiful white snow, blue water and blue skies...all to go with my blue mood. Oh no, not as in sad, as in the COLOR. True BLUE :D
