I almost always wear Curio skins exclusively. I think Gala Phoenix' skins are some of the best quality and most realistic I've seen in game. I have been by her store in Curio numerous times trying on demos. Of course I have my favorites, but I have not seen ONE that doesn't look good. Not long ago, she came out with a skin called, "Elf" specifically for those fantasy players in game. Elf comes in all the skin tones and the Fatpack contains twelve varieties as far as makeup style. Just like all her other skins, Elf comes in light and dark shades of each skin tone, plus has "freckles" as an option. I have three different styles shown within this post and I've labelled each below its corresponding picture. If you're looking for a quality skin for your elf, fairy, pixie, nymph or even you humans, you can't go wrong with Curio Elf.

Kira Lavendel has to be one of my favorite Second Life designers. Every one of her designs are produced with quality, care and the utmost attention to detail. I have so many of her creations in my inventory, I thought it perfect to do a blog about her designs. Every creation comes with several "components", quite a few being optional. I like this fact, plus, I like the fact you can wear skirts or pants with most all her designs. Alot also come with boots, necklaces and tiaras as accessories. Kira is one of those designers where you can almost always tell at first look if you're seeing one of her designs or not. Always functional, sturdy, yet beautiful and feminine, every design has its own special style!

I've chosen eight total designs to display. Below each picture is specific information about each design. All pictures were taken in the magical Fae Fantasy Forest (Enchanted Wonderland Forest) in Bentham Isles, created by Laura Bentham.

I have always loved fantasy art, especially anything with elves, fairies and unicorns. I love the dreamy, magical feel of the art, plus the colors and settings are always beautiful. I think it's also that part of me that refuses to grow up, that still believes. I know many others adore this artwork, too, so I decided to focus on one particular artist and their work about once a week. This week, I've chosen a very special friend of mine, SeleneLily Galicia, also known as Soledad Serenidad, her mermaid persona. Every artist definitely has their own original and unique style, and Selene is no exception. I love her work because her pictures have a softness about them, plus the colorization and textures are always lovely. Originally, I thought I'd only feature one picture, but it was too hard to choose just one favorite! Seven featured pictures was the best I could do! The caption below each picture is its original name by Selene. Enjoy :)

The Gift

I logged into Second Life late last night and found a wonderful surprise waiting for me. I noticed an inventory item along with a message had been sent and was waiting in the upper right hand corner of my screen. It was sent by Azriel Demain of FallnAngel Creations and stated that I had been given a gift as one of Falln's Angels Group members. It was a beautiful gown that had been named after me and sent in every color! The design's name, Falln Natalie Gown, consists of a bodice, arm wrap, shoulder wrap, skirt, sleeves, gloves, cloak and gown bottom. The twelve colors it comes in are pink, red, green, blue, gold, purple, aqua, black, silver, white, orange and brown. I quickly tried the gown on and loved the way it looked and fit. I truly felt honored the designer had done this and decided I was going to blog about it! I thought it only befitting to go to the beautiful Tol Narwa Vire, which is also Azriel's amazing creation, to take some pictures wearing the gown...

Blending With Nature

Today I want to focus on a lovely elven gown I found when I was out doing my favorite pasttime recently, shopping. The way I shop is I glance over all the displays rather quickly and then when something catches my eye, I go back to it and look at it in detail. This is the same way I do it in real life too! I don't like going through big clearance rounders and stuffed sale racks. I know you can find great deals doing this and there are times I do it, but for the most part, I stay with the neatly organized racks that are appealing to the eye and easy to look at. This particular dress I found was appealing in several ways. It was a very unique style, had quite a bit of detail here and there all over the gown, especially the bodice, and I thought the colors used in the design looked beautiful together. The designer, Bee Dumpling, used lighter greens and browns and the way she put these together looked fantastic. The perfect "child of nature" gown for a nature-loving elf. Another thing I liked about it was the fact that the fabrics used were practical and sturdy, yet still lovely. The gown is called Tenuvial Elven Gown and contains a bodice, prim skirt, tunic skirt, skirt, pants, sleeves, and gloves.

Elf Clan and Its Lands

I remember a time about four to five years ago when I first discovered the beautiful "Elf" lands of Second Life. I am referring to ElvenGlen and Elf Haven specifically. I remember landing in ElvenGlen and being in awe of the beauty surrounding me. I think what stood out was the lush green grass, tall majestic mountains with lovely waterfalls, and all the creeks and ponds in abundance. Of course after I arrived in ElvenGlen, I was cheerfully greeted by an elf who was very friendly and seemed eager to help and answer questions. All of this made me want to come back several times and finally, I ended up joining Elf Clan, headed by Wayfinder Wishbringer, and decided I wanted to become an elf and live in their lands. That's what I did! I bought land in ElfHaven, bought some elven clothes, and decor for my new home, a lovely treehouse. I loved my new home and life within the game because I'd always had a love for anything to do with elves, fairies and fantasy. I stayed with this roleplay a while, then later ended up starting a new venue and left Elf Clan at the time. I just recently came back, but have been more involved in blogging and exploring than participating actively for now.

As alot of groups and regions come and go, I was surprised to learn that Elf Clan, still headed by its founder, Wayfinder Wishbringer, was still around after all these years. Yes, there had been some changes, but overall, the group was the same with the same goals, mainly to offer a variety of quality activities, events, and opportunities for all interested. Instead of ElvenGlen being their main home, ElvenMyst was this area now. I remember ElvenMyst was in the process of being built when I was a member before. The lands considered Elf Clan regions are now ElvenMyst, ElvenHearth, and ElvenDream. ElvenMyst is the main region and consists of a floating castle that will give a "tour" of Elf Clan regions. This region contains an underwater castle, a "Pirate's Life" themed area for gathering with friends and sailing, a gorgeous meditation area, a museum, and some of the largest elven builds, including the Fyrefly: Eternity starship, Star Trek Astrometrics Lab, Heimdall Luxury Sky Cruiser and Steampunk Tardis. This is one of the most detailed and enjoyable Star Trek ships on the grid. ElvenMyst holds the oldest elven Drum Circle in Second Life, plus holds archery competitions here. ElvenMyst also consists of quite a number of fantasy merchants, which are placed in one area of the region for convenience. There's also a sandbox for Elf Clan members who need a place to build.

The two other regions under Elf Clan ownership are similar to ElvenMyst in terrain and style and are on either side of ElvenMyst. ElvenHearth houses the Home of the Dwagons, which is a castle of the orks and is full of fun and hidden doors. This area also contains many residences and there is rental space available. ElvenDream, also known as Unicorn Isle, is beautifully done with the unicorn motif. As I've said in one of my other blogs, unicorns have always been special to me, so this island was my favorite out of the three. This region was more or less a park to enjoy boating on the lake, host events in the buildings, and just enjoy the scenery.

There are two developments that must be mentioned. Elf Clan has added two grids to their original regions. The first, Reaction grid, is a secondary world apart from Second Life. Elf Clan holds lands there as well, as an alternate experimentation with the OpenSim project. Inworldz is another secondary world. Elf Clan members may build freely here. They are experimental lands and no builds are guaranteed to stay, but good ones may be left for demonstration purposes. Inworldz contains the regions of ElvenSong and ElvenHolde.

Elf Clan also has opportunities online with their general information and event calendar regarding the group, plus a social network anyone can join. If you are or become a member of Elf Clan, you will definitely want to check these out.

The three regions of Elf Clan are peaceful, beautiful and definitely a must visit. If you are looking for activities, involvement and roleplay without all the rules of a roleplay sim, Elf Clan is the way to go.
