Des Fleurs Bleu

I've been in a blue mood as of late, but also in the mood to wear blue. I've always loved Evie Miles' Ariel Fairy and finally spent some Lindens on the blue version. It's made of beautiful blue daisies and silk with several optional pieces. For example, you can wear the top and bottoms with or without the silk attachment as seen below. The outfit also comes with a head circlet and anklets. You can get this lovely, detailed outfit in purple, black, yellow, white, pink and red. Evie's colors are always vibrant and gorgeous as are her designs. Pure magic!

At the Cottage Boutiques: Mae Fairy Tale

Mae blue butterfly twig (wear) and Mushroom Drop necklace

I'd like to recognize another shop at the Cottage Boutiques of Enchanted, that is Mae Fairy Tale, by Maena Tammas. I visited her store not long ago and ended up spending about two hours there taking in all the magical delights. I also ended up spending alot of Lindens! Quite a few of Mae's products can be found on the Enchanted sim. What I love about her items are how unique and interactive they are. One thing I noticed throughout her whole store was BOOKS. Mae Fairy Tale is definitely a book advocate! That's a good thing, because I love books :) She just has an amazing and creative imagination, which truly shines when you visit her main store. Not only does it have wonderful products for sale, it is also worth a visit just to see the store setup and magical touches here and there. Mae is also very artistic and has an art gallery there displaying her very own artwork, and it is for sale. She does beautiful work with all her many venues!
The pictures in this blog are some of the items I've purchased from Mae's store and most are displayed on the sim. Be sure and visit her store at the cottage when you are visiting Enchanted, but also be sure you see her main store :)
Here is a link to her blog: http://maefairytale.blogspot.com/

An Enchanted GRAND OPENING Saturday, November 20!

This is the blog I just wrote on my sim, Enchanted's, site at http://enchantedelvenrealm.blogspot.com/:

I know I've rather neglected this blog since Enchanted opened! I've been busy working on other things, plus have been out of town off and on quite a bit. I have something very special I need to tell you about. Yes, we opened Enchanted a while back, but never had an "official" Grand Opening, so we plan to do that next Saturday the 20th of November. I hope everyone can come :) Our major event is the fact one of my favorite creators, Faery with Studio Sidhe, will launch her newest and most magical creation to date! If you're a fantasy buff like me and love beautiful and magical things, you can't miss this! Here is the slurl to the sim: slurl.com/secondlife/Elven%20Realm/160/154/22 We will also have a photo and poetry contest you can enter at the event. There will be first, second and third prizes for each contest given away. All photos need to be taken in Enchanted of Elven Realm, plus poems written should be original, fantasy themed, and use Enchanted as inspiration :) I can't wait to see all that creativity out there! You may submit pictures to the Enchanted group site on Flickr. Please just type "contest entry" as the caption and upload the picture. You will have to join the group first, it is open enrollment. Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/enchantedelvenrealm/

As far as the poetry contest, please submit your poems on a notecard in Second Life to my avie, Natalie Montagne. You may also submit to my email at nataliemontagne@yahoo.com. Be sure to put your name on them! Both contests earliest entry must be on the day of the event or after. We will accept entries until December 5 and winners will be announced on December 7.

We are planning to have a DJ off and on the day of the event and possibly some other things in store. A percentage of all proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of Animals fund. Hope to see you there!

Elven Realm's Enchanted

On bridge from the light to dark forest

Mushroom forest

Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long between posts! Alot of the reason for this is because I've been working on a new and exciting project :) I thought it was about time I share with everyone the fact I've recently acquired a new sim of my own in Second Life as it's something I've wanted to do for years. I've had all these ideas running around in my mind about what I want to do with it and have finally done it! I knew Andrek Lowell, a very talented environmental designer who also created Chakryn and Bentham Forest, was who I needed to make my ideas a reality (well a virtual reality). He just finished his part of the work and now I'm adding things here and there that need done. The new area is called Enchanted, and it's in the sim, Elven Realm. It's a beautiful, magical fantasy world incorporating realism with a touch of whimsy. The "purpose" of the region is to provide a refuge or sanctuary of sorts for the rare unicorn and other woodland animals. Also, a percentage of all donations to the sim will be given to the national animal rights advocacy group, Friends of Animals, so it's all about the forest fauna. I plan to have events and contests now and then, plus there is a Flickr page where people can post pictures taken in the sim. I've always had a love for fantasy art and am amazed daily by the talent of so many artists within Second Life. I'd like to make this the focus of alot of contests and recognition I plan to have within the sim.

There are quite a few "can't miss" areas of the forest, but I want them to be a surprise as they are hidden all over the sim. The best way to explore is definitely on foot, or you are bound to miss something. Also, set your environment to midnight when you enter the dark forest. That's right, we have a dark forest, just in time for Halloween! There's also a mushroom forest, flower field, fae gathering spot, unicorn pasture, mermaid inlet, and candy cove plus MANY other fun places to discover.

I don't want to tell you too much, because I think you need to discover it for yourself! I've added a few pictures to this post so you can get an idea of what the forest is like. I hope you'll come visit soon! Fae, fairy, elf, wizard, drow or human, I think you'll enjoy Enchanted to the fullest!

Chakryn Forest: Romantic Beauty

I think the forests and woods of Second Life are my absolute favorite when it comes to exploration. I've already blogged about two of my favorites, Elven Forest and Tol Narwa Vire. I discovered another one not long ago that's absolutely beautiful and it's called Chakryn Forest, owned by Bettina Tizzy and created by Andrek Lowell. I found it listed as a pick on someone's profile.

A creature visiting the Forest, while looking very regal indeed.

Elemental waters dancing below one of the many statues in the Forest and the volcano high above

As soon as I landed in the Forest, I was surrounded by huge, lush trees that seemed to glitter in the sunlight. Small blossoms, leaves, and magic dust fell from above, while sounds of the forest could be heard in every direction. As I began to walk, I could see a flowing creek in front of me with two very tall waterfalls to the left. A lovely statue floated among the waterfalls and I was in awe of this magical place. I ran across a tree stump with instructions of some kind, then I realized it was an ongoing quest using orbs set up throughout the forest. I continued to walk through the woods and ran across quite a few unique oddities including a giant snowglobe, a large teddy bear standing by the creek, big eyes and faces following you as you walk by, a floating moon with a bed to relax, an opaque blue camel, a hobo vardo, and a heavyset nude woman lounging by the creek *giggles*.

One of the "eyes" of the forest that follow your every move as you pass o.O

A BIG, but friendly teddy bear

One thing I love about Chakryn Forest is the gorgeous sunbeams that filter through the trees and into the forest giving it a glowing and colorful prism effect. I noticed in about two to three spots on the edge of the sim right over the water, there were dancing effects using abstract art, which added to the overall magic of the sim. There are also hidden places within the Forest. I found a body of water high at the top of a rocky mountain and when I went into the water, I ended up in a little room with candles, planets, and other interesting items. After walking past stone "faces" built into the rock surrounding me and following my every move, I found a dark cave that also lead to this underwater area. There's also a volcano at the highest point of the sim. Little coves and resting places are scattered all about the forest, making it that much more inviting. Inside another cave is the actual trees and other forest objects for sale by the creator, Andrek Lowell.

Relaxing on the floating moon :)

The hobo vardo full of "important" junk...wait, can junk be important? Of course it can!

Chakryn Forest is another must-see in Second Life I can't say enough about. There is no nudity, weapons or vampire bites allowed as it's a peaceful region especially created for relaxation and discovery. Beauty, magic, and "character" abounds in this original!

Tol Narwa Vire: Storybook Magic

Unicorn, you are the picture of purity and light
Majestic, yet gentle within my perfect sight
Unicorn, protector and healer of all the wood,
Mighty, yet gracious, you represent all that is good

After discovering Elven Forest quite by accident, I've decided I want to see what else is out there, knowing there is more than I could ever take in! Yesterday late evening I visited an area known as Elven Lands, which consist of several sims. The first, Tol Narwa Vire, was an absolutely beautiful area full of deep woods, creeks, ponds and the sea, castles and other buildings with lovely, detailed architecture. I ended up spending the entire time I was on, which was about 3 hours, in this region. This is considered a roleplaying sim with rules, but not quite as formal as the rules in some roleplaying sims I've seen. As long as you are dressed as a fantasy avatar and play this part as your regular SL character, along with following the rules of the region, it is acceptable.

Above: The lovely hollow by the creek bank with the tiny boats and glowing aquarium.
Below: Intricate and beautiful architecture abound.

Upon arrival, you feel like you've stepped into a fairy tale, as you are surrounded by mushrooms, sparkle dust, forest trees, and bubbles. Everything is green and lush, with a magical touch. Up ahead and to the right an amazing and intricately detailed structure stands among the forest trees and extends up above the treetops into a tower. There are beautiful bridges, brick pathways, gardens and other small out buildings sprinkled all over the grounds in just the right places. Creeks, coves, caves, and small ponds also add much personality and beauty to the whole picture. The creators of the area went all out with poseballs, and interactive objects. They also scattered many creatures here and there all over the grounds. As I flew over the creek to see what was along the banks and where it ended, I discovered my favorite spot in the whole region. I landed on one side of the creek surrounded by huge trees and plant life of all kinds. On the other side, I saw a breathtaking white unicorn that almost looked like it glowed in the deep, dark forest. Unicorns have always been a childhood favorite of mine. Yes, I had to swim over and visit along with taking some pictures. In a different area by the creek banks, I ran across a little cove with tiny boats floating around their own little deck. Just a tad beyond this, the tall hills rising up from the creek bank surrounded an unbelievably beautiful, lighted, natural aquarium. It was built into the hill and under a bridge above. Right here, right now, this place was so enchanting and lovely, I felt I was part of this world, part of the magic it exuded.

Below: Playing the harp that stands elegantly in the golden tower building.

Tol Narwa Vire was the most beautiful sim in the region, but there were a couple others that were definitely noteworthy. Falln Sanctuary, FallnAngel Creations, and Falln Amusements were three other sims I visited that were connected to Tol Narwa Vire and a part of Elven Lands. One other one is Falln Sanitarium, which contains the designer's skin and hair, but I didn't get to explore here. Falln Sanctuary consists of private residences, including the castle of Falln creator Azriel Demain. The castle is left open for anyone to explore and is truly amazing. Shallow water covers the ground all the way around the entrances to the castle, which has pretty stained glass roses as windows all over the building. This area also has lovely terrain, including tall, majestic snowy mountains, placed perfectly along with the green trees and forest. FallnAngel Creations houses the creator's fashion designs, while Falln Amusements contains alot of the products you see all over the entire region. Most of this sim had an amusement park setup complete with a train, carousel, ferris wheel, swings, a haunted house and several other unique displays. Of course I had to try out all the rides, as I love amusement parks anyway. They really did a good job with the authenticity and quality of the entire park. Normally a "ride through" haunted house, the cars were broken down, so I had to walk through. Instead of creatures jumping out at every turn, there were "scary" items for sale all over the haunted house. I just found it interesting and original how the creator used the sim to display products. All three sims are definitely a must see for fantasy lovers, or anyone for that matter. This is one of those places that every time you visit, something new and enchanting is guaranteed to be discovered!

Elven Forest: Simply Beautiful With A Touch of Magic

I was in search of elven clothes and as I was looking, I ran across a listing for "Elven Forest" in SL search for Places. That "Teleport" button is just too easy to use, because of course I had to click it and explore as soon as possible. When I arrived, I was on a wooden deck with several booths around me full of little stores. Up ahead, I could see beautiful, tall, lush trees lining the forest that lay beyond. Forget the fact my original intention was to shop, and also forget the fact an SL "shopaholic" was surrounded by stores...I felt drawn to the dark and mysterious forest that relentlessly invited me to enter. I walked toward the border of trees, which had a sign out front, "Elven Forest". Everything was done right, from the forest trees to the font used on the sign to the pretty quaint lighting around the entrance. Without hesitation, I began my walk into the forest and there were so many brick trails, bridges and open grassland to discover, I didn't know where to start! Right after you walk in and then go straight to the center, there's a little social area where you can do a group dance, sit on a unicorn or a mushroom, and view a beautiful pond. It took me more than once to discover little hidden areas, like a cave behind a waterfall with poseballs and a little beach area past the forest and down a small trail. The area is full of private AND social areas with poseballs in abundance, so a fun place for friends or couples' romance. The areas consist of treehouses, little pools, castles, floating lotus flowers, caves, waterfalls, beaches, a watchtower, and many many more features. There's also a few different "up in the sky" areas you must check out. It's more fun to discover everything yourself, and well worth the visit. You must know that you can't fly from place to place, you have to walk. This is done for the sake of privacy for couples and to add to the exploring experience. They do have a great teleport system when you first arrive. Right before you get to the entrance among the trees, this teleporter lists every main area in Elven Forest. It's a large region, covering 2 sims, Blossom and Jaded Wings. Also, please be forewarned, this is an M-rated area and does allow nudity.

I won't tell anymore, I will let you discover the fascinating details! Overall, Elven Forest was created with love and care, full of class, beauty and magic.
