Perfect Dress For A Mischief Maker

What a unique dress Ren by Evangeline Miles of Evie's Closet is! It's lovely and can be worn casually or to a nice occasion. I like it because it has several optional pieces, including a "dirty" and "torn" version of the dress. This is perfect for all you mischief makers out there! You can go perfectly clean and come back dirty and torn to your heart's content. Of course since it's Second Life, you can do this routine again and again, hehe :) Ren comes in red (seen here), green, purple, brown and black and also has a version for tinies.

A Look at Truth Hair and Sofia Skin

I wanted to focus on some of Truth's newest hairs, which are simply lovely each in their own way. I decided I would also feature Aida Ewing's Sofia skin (Natural) in a few of its ten choices of makeup colors. Aida Ewing of Glam Affair always chooses bright, bold colors and eyeliners for her skins. They always contrast well and stand out beautifully with just the right mix and without overdoing. I've listed each hair and skin name below the corresponding picture/pictures.

Beauty and Versatility Among the Wildflowers

Beauty along with versatility is the name of the game with Selina Forder's latest creation. Keona is of a pretty neutral brown tone and is so versatile, it can be worn year round. The outfit also comes with an optional cape shown below. As always, it has the same Selina trademark details and quality.

Urban Elf

Another beautiful ensemble by Kira Lavendel of MysticHope Designs was recently released. Mourning Bride comes in several colors and I purchased the pink, because I've always loved the color combination of pink and black. One of my favorite things about Kira's designs are how vividly colorful most of them are, without being gaudy of course. Plus, the fact they come in a good range of different colors to choose from. I went into the city to purchase the outfit, then I put it on and managed to get lost! I ended up in some not-so-good parts of town, but eventually found my way out after taking several pictures with the outfit. This design is so unique and feminine with its gorgeous sleeve and waist detail. These feminine touches are just the right combination with the black bodice, hat, gloves and boots. The outfit also comes with a lovely choker and ornate knife with holster. I know it's supposed to be for "mourning", but I just had to wear it now!

Bentham Forest: Spooky and Fun!

Red eyes glowing at every turn!

Spooky, eerie, dark, scary...there are alot of words I could use to describe Lauren Bentham's haunted Bentham Forest. It's all these things, yet fun and whimsical! When you first arrive, you land in a small, wooden house with its own kind of charm. Inside is the opportunity to join the group or purchase some of the items displayed within the region. You also have the option to begin one of the quests the Forest offers. Once you get all the way through and complete the quest/quests, you receive a reward.

I think my favorite thing about the forest is the way everything glows at every turn, yet it's dark enough to achieve its goal of complete spookiness, hehe. Yes, environment designer extraordinaire Andrek Lowell has done it again! He is also the creator responsible for much of the beauty found in Chakryn Forest, which I wrote about in a past blog. The glowing effect covering the whole forest reminds me of the night scenes in Avatar's Pandora, it's truly beautiful. Not only do alot of the plants have a glowing effect (especially the mushrooms), but there are also colorful lights here and there all over the area, along with "moonbeams" filtering through the abundant trees. Another thing that glows are the bright red, evil eyes that stare at you from among the dark trees. I have not seen so many mushrooms in my life, and I don't mean just mushrooms, but MUSHROOMS of all shapes and sizes. I also found a pretty cave with brightly lit and colored crystals aglow. The entire sim was full of dead, dark trees and ruins either lying in the creek or partially standing. As I said before, the forest did have some fun and whimsical features and those include the dark trees with faces, the big mushrooms with witch faces, and many other things. Make sure you set your environment on midnight (try it on sunrise too...to see alot of the details) and go explore this wonderful haunted forest if you haven't already, there's nothing like it in all of Second Life!

I took all the pictures within this post (except the last one) with my environment on midnight so you could see the glowing effects. Be sure to click the pictures to enlarge them.

The little, wooden house which is the landing point. Notice the red eyes underneath.

Gorgeous glowing effect surrounding the creek waters.

Mushrooms of all shapes and sized cover the sim. Notice the GIANT ones!

These are the crystals I found in the cave I explored.

Who is that with the big, pointy nose? lol

This is what the sim looks like when the environment is set to sunrise.

Lauren Bentham also owns Enchanted Wonderland Forest within Fae Fantasy Forest. I did an earlier post that showed quite a bit of this region. Here is the link: http://nataliemontagne.blogspot.com/2010/07/designer-focus-kira-lavendel-of.html. All these areas are within Bentham Isles.

Green and Blue Mix, With Just a Touch of Glitter

This is one set of sleeves showing the glitter detail

Green and blue is one of my favorite color combinations. Add a touch of sparkle and shine, and it looks just fine :) Evie's Closet has a beautiful gown set called Aventine in this glorious color mix of jewel tones. It's made to look like the colors are blended together with a touch of iridescence and tiny sparkles here and there. I also love the fact there are so many mix and match pieces, including a shorter skirt, short and long pants, two choices of sleeves, and two choices of longer skirts. My favorite is the longer pants with the shirt, which is casual yet classy. As always the detail is amazing and the fit is wonderful!

Fantasy Art Focus: Ruriko Bracken

Sparkles, twinkles and interesting textures are a few of the many reasons I adore Ruriko Bracken's pictures. So many of them look like a real picture, a photograph, because of all the detailed editing involved. She's very good about choosing wonderful locations and backdrops for her shoots, making her pictures that much more spectacular. For example, she has taken some in Arabia in front of some beautiful Arabian architecture. There are some artists who stay with portraits and people only in their pictures, while others excel in landscapes. Well, Ruriko is exceptionally talented in both of these equally! Really quite amazing. She's just very well-rounded in every way and this shows in each and every one of her pictures. Alot of artists do pictures that are all the same style, but Ruriko varies hers quite often. For example, she has done some that portray a model in a beautiful gown in some exotic location, another that shows vintage Audrey Hepburn in all her glory, and then she might do a winged fairy with magic dust all about. She has won many contests and awards and uses her talent within her own venues. Along with taking her pictures, she also finds time to model and write in three blogs! Ruriko Bracken has definitely made her mark on Second Life photography and style!
